My Desert Island Clothing Pieces

It's the start of a new year, which meant I did a closet clean out and opened up the old Poshmark account for a limited time to make some extra cash and free up some hangers.

I have a lot of clothes, I've had a lot of clothes for as long as I can remember. In high school I went two years without repeating an outfit at school. And since I usually wear a plain bottom I can pair lots of pieces with, you can only imagine how big my closet is.

As I was staring at the pile of black sweaters I couldn't bare to part with, I got thinking about what pieces were my absolute favorite pieces and brought me unprecedented joy a la Marie Kondo and which pieces were just nice to have. Spoiler alert: I still kept a majority of those pieces.

But without further ado here are some of beloved clothing items in no particular order, season, or style:

ModCloth Coach Tour A-Line Dress

I bought this dress in high school, probably 6 or 7 years ago and it still is a vital part of my wardrobe. I bought it a beautiful purple color which is sadly no longer available, but the navy one looks right up my alley (I might have to buy it as well). It's a super flattering knee length that doesn't look frumpy and defines your waist so well and HAS POCKETS. Really what else do you need? I literally live in it during the fall because it's the perfect thick material but the sleeveless style allows you to take off a sweater or jacket when the midday heat catches you.

These boots are simply the perfect casual go-to bootie. They are perfect for pairing with jeans and I literally wear them 3-4 times a week. They are cute and stylish and super comfortable. The only downside is that they get dirty super quickly, but that's something I can live with.

This top literally turned me into a turtleneck lover! I used to think they were frumpy and old news, but this t-shirt material one really opened my eyes to how stylish they can be. This is great for spring and fall and I usually pair it with a denim skirt or high waisted army green pants.

So I am totally picky about my pants. Like most girls, my proportions are not apparently "normal" and finding pants that fit are a nightmare. These high-waisted jeans fit like a dream! I still have to wear a belt, but honestly I've never owned a pair of jeans that don't require aa belt. And the legs are so skinny, so I don't have to worry about trumpet bottoms and they literally go with anything! I have them in four colors and I honestly could not live without them.

I have an older pair so they aren't available online anymore, but I've linked a similar one. I got my first pair of Versace sunglasses when I was 17 and I've never gone back. A brief stint working at a Sunglass Hut got me my absolute favorite pair that I will wear until I die. And polarization really does make a difference, whenever I'm home and I have to drive I cannot wear flimsy regular glasses because honestly polarization truly does improve vision clarity. Mine have studs, but I've had them for so long half of them have fallen out so mine are beginning to look more and more like the linked ones anyway.
