Rewards Apps That Are Worth It Pt. 2

Since the first post breaking down the different rewards apps I use has been one of the most successful blog posts to date, I decided to make a sequel! I personally feel like rewards apps are the 2019 version of coupon cutting, so why not take advantage of it? These all are apps that allow you get free money or gift cards through cash back, surveys, or location check ins. I tried all of these apps below so you don't have to!

So this is a super easy to use survey app and requires no spending on your behalf- I would recommend having notifications on though because I have not yet noticed a pattern in when they release the surveys. But about once a week you'll get notification saying you'll have a stack and depending on your answers and how far you get in the survey, you'll earn a certain number of points. It does take a little longer than apps like Drop where you link your credit card, but that's also because all gift cards start at $25 where as others may start at $5 or even $1. And the redemption options are a lot more diverse than others and offer gift cards to things like Alamo Drafthouse and Topgolf along with the typical Amazon and Target. Ok this is one of those kinda creepy apps where you just benefit from the fact that companies are selling our data. You simply let it access your location and you get points for going places and then answering questions about where you were. If you go to Whole Foods, a few days later you'll have a notification asking where you were on June 25th at 4:07pm and then probably ask you a couple questions about orange juice (they ask the same questions about orange juice over and over again). It also takes a long time to accumulate points for gift cards, but in the end it is free money so you decide. Click here to download Panel App with my invite code!

This has actually become one of my favorite apps to use! All you do is scan your receipts whenever you go grocery shopping and you get points! If you buy one of the items they are promoting you'll get more points, but I've been doing just fine buying what I normally do. Their list of potential gift cards is also the most expansive I've ever seen! This is definitely worth checking out if you're looking to get cash back without linking a card or if you want to pay with cash and still utilize rewards. Use code H3FRV for a free 2,000 points!

I was a bit hesitant on using Ibotta, I honestly haven't heard anything spectacular and it is certainly not as wonderful as Fetch, but that is probably because you get real live money for it, so it will obviously take a little longer and be a bit more selective than the gift card giving apps. Just like Fetch Rewards, you scan receipts after grocery shopping, but you have to first redeem offers and then you'll get cash back. So if you go to Target and buy lunch meat and Ibotta happens to be having $2 cash back promotion on lunch meat you'll get $2 added to you account and once you reach $20 you can redeem. This probably works better for those buying for more than one person who has no idea how to cook... Use code hxpdulj when downloading to join my Ibotta team!

This is another app where you get real money for using it so thats exciting (I do think this is restricted to Florida and NYC). All you do is open up the app and keep it running when you're at a bar or restaurant that is featured on their app and get paid! Some people are making over $300 a week just for hanging out at a bar. Though, that does sound like they might need a hobby that doesn't include the bottle. Pro tip: My friend is a server at a restaurant that is featured and keeps it open while she's working to give herself a nice bonus after ever shift. Use code Emily22798 and get a free hour of cash back!

Ok, this probably has the makings of a great app, but it just missed the mark for me. You have to keep the app up and running 24/7 (or it will give you a nasty notification when you open the app up) and you get points for walking outside- again sounds super easy. And you actually accumulate points rather quickly, but the rewards are just not worth it for me. You'll often see things like a free month of Care Of Vitamins or a sleek phone case and they change so often, you can't really save up for something good. But, if you are looking for physical things over gift cards (they do often have Bark Boxes, which if I had a dog I would 10000% get), this might be good for you. But for right now, I'm going to keep hanging on hoping for something good. Click here to download sweat coin if you think you'd be fine with waiting for a good reward!
