Shopping The Dressed For Summer Lilly Pulitzer Sale
Most Lilly lovers countdown the days to their After Party Sale that happens at the end of Summer and sometime after Christmas, but our colorful friends have blessed us with a surprise two-day sale happening Monday June 29 and Tuesday June 30! Lilly doesn't normally go on sale, so it is the perfect time to snag some pretty things at great deals! Plus, they are adding some amazing Resort and Spring styles this time around (which don't go on sale this quickly like ever)!
Most items are around 60% off! Think between $49-$99 for dresses, $20-$50 for shirts, and $40-$60 for bottoms!
First thing's first: if you've never shopped a Lilly sale, there is definitely a lot of waiting involved. The first After Party sale I shopped, I was in a virtual line for about an hour and then had to rush to check out before what I wanted was gone! DO NOT REFRESH YOUR PAGE or you will loose your spot in line. This is not a passive experience, and adding stuff to your cart does not guarantee you will get everything, so go in with a plan!
I would suggest creating an account with Lilly Pulitzer, if you haven't already and keep it logged in on your computer to streamline the checkout process. Also, I tend to find things move along faster when shopping on my laptop compared to my phone.
You don't necessarily have to be on your laptop at 8 am when the sale starts on Monday because they drop new pieces throughout the event and I've found some great things later in the event.
Check out the size guide beforehand for the various styles since the items are not returnable!
It's also helpful to have an idea of what colors, styles, or pieces you might be wanting. Because of my red undertones, I tend to buy Lilly that has blue or green in it compared to pink or yellow. I also tend to stay away from more fitted dresses because I've had problems with them zipping up over my chest.
So now that you know how to shop the sale, lets get to the good stuff - things to look out for! I'm not sure exactly what will be discounted, but having shopped numerous sales I have a rough outline of what I want.
Athletic Wear
I love my Skipper Popover and I think literally everyone needs one! So many Lilly styles have UPF 50+ protection, are super cute, and beyond comfortable. I've also been looking at a few pairs of leggings and will probably make my first bottoms purchase during this sale!
Basics
I have personally had a hard time justifying spending like $60 for a top from Lilly Pulitzer without a print, but their quality is so amazing and I genuinely wear my solids ALL THE TIME and snagging them at a discount is so worth it!
Swing Dresses
I love a good swing dress! Not only are they super comfy and help you stay cool in the summer heat, but it will allow you to eat a huge lunch while out and about and not worry about a food baby. And imagine all the twirling boomerangs one can take???
Elsa Tops
Elsa Tops are so so so flattering! They are super versatile and can be easily dressed up or down. They come in solids and prints and are just overall a great investment and if you can find them on sale? ADD TO CART.
Shift Dresses
Sophie Dresses
My first Lilly dress was a Sophie and my second Sophie is probably my most used Lilly piece ever! Sophie's are a very comfortable and casual without looking sloppy! I've worn mine to job interviews, out to dinner, and to the mall! Plus most have UPF protection!
Accessories
If you are looking to give Lilly as a gift, to want to add a bit of color to plain outfits, accessories are the way to go!! Lilly has tropical inspired hats, bags, jewelry, and homeware! I would personally be SO LOST without my Lilly travel tumbler.
