Peppermint Kiss Dipped Oreos: Last Minute Christmas Dessert Recipe

Ah Christmas, the time of year where you are reminded that every other person on the planet is better in the kitchen than you are. Idk about you, but I am fine with my pre-made Toll House cookie dough and I don't need some pretty woman in plaid on the internet showing me the 15 kinds of cookies she made for her Christmas Eve party and making me feel like less of a person. But, if you are in need of a last minute Christmas treat, look no further than these delicious peppermint treats! We all know Oreos are the best kind of cookie, so why not elevate them to the next level?



Recipe makes about 12 cookies, double or triple as needed.


Ingredients:

1 handful of candy canes or peppermints

1 bag of Candy Cane Hershey Kisses

12 Oreo cookies, Double Stuffed is a little easier to work with

Sprinkles (optional)




Directions:


Crush candy canes in a ziplock bag, uneven pieces are fine!


Unwrap entire bag of kisses (maybe save one to eat while unwrapping) and put in microwave safe bowl.


Microwave for 30 seconds, stir well, and microwave for an additional 15 seconds, or until it is liquid.


Use a fork and lower the Oreos into the mixture, coating the cookie in it's entirety.


Place coated Oreo on a wax paper covered cookie sheet or cooling rack


Sprinkle crushed candy canes and sprinkles onto cookies, I like to make a few with only sprinkles for people who are easily overwhelmed by peppermint.


Refrigerate for about an hour, or until hard.
