Women Owned Businesses In My Instagram Saves
Happy Women's History Month! I thought it would be really nice to do a spin off of my Black Owned Business Highlights and refresh it for March! I love supporting small businesses in general, but my girl bosses will always hold a special place in my heart! Instagram has not been helping my wallet in anyway by providing me with so many amazing small businesses on my discover page because I want everything I see. It truly warms my heart to see so many women out there taking a seat at the table and going for their slice of the American Dream and though I will not be able to buy from all of these right now, sharing them with you at least gave me another reason to look my saved folder and swoon.

But first, I want to share with you a few women business owner statistics to show why I personally believe investing in and buying from female owned brands is of the utmost importance for our society:
The US has 12.3 million women-owned businesses.
US women-owned businesses generate $1.8 trillion a year.
64% of new women-owned businesses were started by women of color last year.
Just 25% of women business owners seek business financing.
Women receive just 7% of venture funds for their startups.
Female entrepreneurs ask for roughly $35,000 less in business financing than men.
Overall, men receive an average loan size of $43,916 while women receive an average loan size of $38,942.
In short, women owned businesses make up a giant growing chunk of the business world but receive less funding overall.

When I say I stalk this instagram on the daily... I was never the biggest fan of loud prints in home decor but Katie Kime has made me a convert.
